Grocery Shopping

Before we had the girls, I'll be honest, if I made it to the grocery store every 2 weeks that made for a happy refridgerator. Now it's a least once a week and my grocery bill is outrageous. How can two little peanuts eat SO much food? I thought formula was expensive...boy would I love to go back to those days. Ha! I know it has a lot to do with the fact that I try to feed them healthy. Why does healthy have to be so pricey? I wish I had the discipline of Debra from thecryercrew and could save money using coupons. I have tried. I cut out coupons
from the Sunday paper and then I go to the store and forget to bring the coupons or forget to use them. I know I have issues. It's not that hard. But I hate grocery shopping late at night after the girls go to bed. I am just too tired, so that leaves shopping with the girls which is a chore in itself. If they aren't throwing the groceries out on the floor, they are eating through the boxes to get to the food. They make me look like I don't feed them. The other day the grocery clerk picked up a box of cereal and she had this horrified look on her face. She whispers
to me "I think a rat maybe tried to get into this box. I will have someone bring you another box." I starting laughing and had to tell her it wasn't rats who ate through the box. It was the sweet, adorable, underfed, animals disguised as my children. She did not look amused.

If only it were this easy.

Such cute pictures. I'm like you. Always forget the coupons. If I actually get to the store with the coupons, I forget to give them to the cashier. OUr grocery bill seems so outrageous since the twins joined our family too. I think only adding one child at a time doesn't make it so dramatic. I HATE that healthy, fresh food is so expensive, too.

My husband laughs that I even still cut the coupons out. They never make it to the store with me. And of course the coupons don't even apply to the fruits, veggies etc. Those pictures are too cute!

And here I thought real food would be cheaper. Darn it! I'm doing semi all right with coupons, but I don't save a whole heck of a lot. I'm going to keep trying though. There has to be some trick to it I'm not seeing. My aunt used to be good enough that the store would owe HER money when she checked out! Or so she said...

I can just picture the girls chewing on the cereal boxes...

Do you go to the big stores or some of the discount food stores? We go to something called ALDIs, which is decent on prices usually. But they don't take coupons, so you take what you get.

I think its amazing you are tough enough to bring your girls to the grocery store. I most often go to the grocery store at night after the gy. I am very tired but I just cannot face taking them with me, except Costco. I keep trying to use coupons but I loose them or forget them too! I mostly purchase at Costco and they don't take coupons ever. I need a one stop shop with two seaters and Costco fits the bill.

I love the pictures! I can't get into the coupon stuff either. I've tried, but it exhausts me thinking about it. I'm a bargain shopper, so I do pay attention to costs, but I never remember I have the coupons I've clipped, or don't have them with me... I tried looking this morning, but you know, by the time I got through the ads and calculated what were good buys, the twins were awake from their nap. SO, I felt like I wasted time! My sister is into couponing, so I've just asked her to keep an eye out for great deals for me!

My girls have those jammies! Too cute! And I am with you on the shopping. I HATE doing anything besides crocheting, reading or watching TV after the girls are in bed. But I hate shopping with the little animals more I think!

The mouse story is HYSTERICAL!!

Thank you for the compliment!

I absolutely, positively REFUSE to shop with the twins. NEVER, ever no WAY! lol Mine are at the same atage as you. They will even take their shoes and socks off and through them out the cart a million freakin times!!

I'll let you in on a little secret. I started typing it here, then realized how long it became, so I will post it on my blog sometime this week.

Adorable pics!!
I hate grocery shopping too because most of the time I have to bring my kids or go at night. Yuck!! And the money!! Whew! I have really been trying to buy healthy and our grocery bill has definitly reflected it. Even w/coupons!!
