Prima Ballerinas

The girls are enjoying a music & movement dance class this summer. You don't have to wear ballet inspired outfits. Half the kids do, half don't. But who could resist how cute they look in them. It's the first step they must take to enroll in the tap/ballet combo for 2 year olds. Mommy's are NOT allowed in that class. In their class now parents are encouraged to watch but and only interact if your child needs extra 'encouragement'. My girls need extra 'encouragement'. They still have some mommy attachment issues (well in all honesty it's mostly Addee). I am hoping this class helps them get over that. I have tried to leave them in the nursery at the gym and I get that dreaded call over the loud speaker. "Would the mommy of Addison please walk with your head hanging low to get your child as we can't handle listening to her cry anymore"...ok maybe not in those exact words but close. I have tried leaving them numerous time in the nursery at our church and about 10 minutes into the sermon some one peaks their head in and points to me and I have to duck out of church and spend the rest of the with everyone else's well adjusted children and my leg clinger. Don't get me wrong...I love my leg clinger but I would also love to be able to go to the gym every once in a while for more than 15 minutes. So cross your fingers that these prima ballerina's expand their wings and fly off mommy's leg.

They are so cute! I just enrolled my girls in pre-ballet to. I think I am more excited than they are. Actually thats not true they are spinning and twirling in joy. I bought the cutest ballet outfits today.

As for the clingy issues my girls have improved so much. When I joined the gym when they were 2 it was a terrible ordeal to get them to go. Church was spend me in nursery them hanging on to me. The more I did it the better they got until one day they were begging to go to the gym and did not even think once about me leaving. So keep doing what you are doing. It will improve. My girls did. Until then I know its enough to drive you nuts.

They are seriously cute! We have just got back from ballet ourselves. It has rained so much here today that a leak in the ballet studio turned into a major issue - part of the roof fell down in the middle of class! Freaked poor Trelise out so much that she is refusing to go back!!!

Way to cute for words. When I first enrolled Emma in ballet the teacher said to me after the first class, "why don't you try back in a few years?" A few years? I was dying.

That is a cute pic!
Have you tried offering the girls some kind of reward or incentive for making through the whole church, gym, or class without needing you?
Good luck!

They are so cute! I love the little outfits. My girls are starting ballet/tap in the fall. The moms aren't allowed in the room, so I'm really hoping it goes well!

They are just darling...all posed for the camera! I have a clingy 3 yr. old. It's almost worse now that I'm home with her. She doesn't want me out of her sight. I really need to try a class for her. Plus, she loves to dance!

So cute! I have a clinger too...one more than the others. I haven't been brave enough to try and go to the gym and leave them. Maybe I should try it...lord knows I could use a workout.

Oh. M. Goodness. They are to die for in that photo! I am thinking about getting my girls started in dance this fall. I fear that they will be cling-ons as well. Way to work through it!
