Placerita Canyon

When I was a little girl my dad used to take my brother Mikey and I to Placerita Canyon Park.
We loved to pack lunches and hike up to the waterfall.
We'd spend hours in the nature center looking at the animals and flowers.
We have hundreds of pictures of us up there through the years.
Even as we grew older we still loved going and hiking the same trails.
When my dad passed away I was really sad thinking my girls would never get to share those memories with him.
He would have loved my girls.
Probably even more than he loved me :)
And he would have loved my nephew Brandon.
He is a mini version of my brother.

When we decided to meet up at Placerita with our kids I knew that my dad would be so happy knowing that we were sharing his love of Placerita with our kids.
Making our own memories.
Taking pictures of our kids in the same spots we did many years ago.
This boy is so dang cute.
Our sweet peas along the trail.
My dad painted this walking stick for my brother when we little.
My girls.
I have a picture of Mikey and I in this exact spot.
So cute.
They had so much fun.
My girls took the longest nap after all the fun they had.
Hugs goodbye.
And a strangle for Charlotte.

I know he was smiling down that day on us.

What a sweet & touching post! I am so sorry to hear about your dad. But you are so right - I know he enjoyed watching his grandchildren having such a great time. I love that you and your brother shared such a wonderful place and memories with your kids.
Your post made me smile today!

What a fun (and special) family tradition to keep alive! Glad you all had so much fun.

Your girls look SO much alike! Which means they're equally cute, of course! ;) Brandon is so adorable, too. It looks like you guys had a great day!
