5 years ago we took a generations pictures and we took another one this summer.
Only the girls look older.
The rest of us haven't changed a bit...Great grandma, grandma, mommy and the girls.

Pep Talks

For the sake of future embarassment I will refrain from assigning a name to said
child in this conversation.
One of our girls is quite tooty.
She has been known to toot in any and all situations.
Dinner table, nighttime prayers you name it.
Daddy thinks she just toots when she gets squeezed,
but no one is squeezing her under the dinner table.

With Kindergarten starting up I decided
that we needed to talk about the right and wrong time to toot.
I tried to tell her that kids in her class may tease her
if they hear her tooting in class, blah blah blah.
I thought I got my point across,
but seriously,
is this really a pep talk parents have before school starts?
At the end of the conversations said girl tooted her loudest toot to date
and hysterical giggles insued from all parties involved.
Maybe not the best way to make a point.
Here's to a rootin' tootin' first year of school!!

T-Ball Time

We have some serious heavy hitters on our hands.
T-ball was super fun for like the first 30 minutes of every game,
then all they wanted was the snack.
I guess it's a really good thing T-ball games only last 55 minutes.

The girls did very well for never holding a bat or glove.
And they improved so much by the end of season.
All 4 bases were ran...in order!!
Hopefully they want to play again next year.
Daddy really enjoyed coaching.

So I wished my girls a happy birthday but I didn't
post pics of their party.
I have such a fun time planning my girls parties.
I like to go all out.
I mean I only get one party for two kids.
Double the fun!!

The girls were and still are ALL about pink!
So we had a pink sweet treat party.
The girls were so excited to have all their friends from school
there to celebrate.

Hair?!?!

My hair and I have always struggled with one another.
Growing up I hated my orange hair.
The names I was called were enough to send a young girl
into the bathroom with a pair of clippers.
I'm sure you can imagine.
My mom wouldn't let me color my hair
so what does any girl do when she moves away to college?
Dyes, dyes, dyes that orange hair every color but orange.
I will admit I went a lil crazy in college with my hair.
Short, long, dark, blonde, you name it.
At one point I even had yarn weaved in it, don't ask me why...LOL

I still have a love hate relationship with my hair.
I was just trying to figure out how many different colors and cuts I have had
just since the girls have been born.
It was pretty insane.
And after all is said and done I am striving to reach
that perfect shade of...

wait for it...

orange.
Well copper to be exact.
Follow my journey that leads me back to my roots,
haha roots, get it :)

8 weeks pregnant and by far the most crazy.
Blonde and the darkest brown ever, totally natural :)

Trying to weave back in a more natural color.

That only lasted a few months and we are back to dark.

Then we add in a lil red to the dark brown.

I guess that didn't suit my fancy cuz 2 months later I was this
crazy dark color.

And another 2 months I was heading back towards
a more natural color. Seriously...my poor hair.
Then chop and bleach.
Then it just gets blonder and blonder.

And shorter, it was chopped all up the back.

Horrible picture but bay far my favorite cut and color for a while :)

Ohhh and the red comes back!

Very red!

The first appearance of the orange.
Growing out the bob.
Guess I wasn't happy with the red anymore and
opted back to brown.
And then bangs!
Muted more light strawberry blonde
but the bangs remain...
6 months later and still bangs...
I think we have achieved the exact shade of copper
and I think I will keep the bangs for at least a few more months.

What do you think?

I am surprised my girls don't have an issue
with who is my mommy, I never looked the same for very long :)

Has It Really 5 Been Years?

Dear Charlotte and Addison,

I hope you weren't disappointed this morning when you woke up and realized that you weren't actually 'a lot' bigger than you were yesterday when you went to sleep. Not sure what gave you the idea that turning 5 turns you into a 'big' girl. Apparently using scissors is allowed at 5 years old and you think you need to wear make up when you go to a birthday party.
All of this behavior is unacceptable to your mommy and daddy. You are still our little girls. You are to stop growing, never use scissors, and definitely not wear makeup ever.

I surely don't feel 5 years older.
And I certainly don't look 5 years older.
This has been the fastest 5 years of my life.
I'd freeze you right now if I could.

You would wear a dress everyday if we let you
You are loving school and love your friends from school
You use 'seriously/serious' a lot and it makes me smile
You can write your name all by your self,
and people can actually read it
You LOVE your cousins to pieces
You praise my cooking almost every dinner,
I love cooking for you
You love to say Grace at dinner and you have the
most sincere blessings, makes my heart melt
You still want to dress the same
You love to dress up in my shoes and clothes
You ask to go to the mall to just walk around and look at things
Sushi is your favorite food
But Charlotte also favors corn dogs
and Addison chow mein and panda bear (orange) chicken
You love pretend cell phones and have VERY in depth
conversations with friends on them
You like telling everyone what your mommy and daddy do for work
You are obsessed with having long hair,
I swear you'd measure it if you could
You love having your nails painted
You love playing tball
but I think you would like to wear a tutu over you uniform
Daddy is teaching you to break dance and you are both naturals

I still cannot believe that you are mine some days.
I very so lucky to have been given the chance to be your mommy.
You are my biggest accomplishment.
You make so many people smile everyday.
Your giggles alone quite possibly could start world peace.

One Bad Word

Spoiler alert...
We have been known to use a bad word
here and there in our house.
Not often.
And usually not around the girls.
But they slip out sometimes.

As far as our girls know there are 3 bad words.
Stupid, Caca, and poo poo.
I know horrible right?
The innocence is amazing.

So imagine my shock jaw dropping to the floor,
when one of my girls used a real life hideous word.
Like a word that you would never say in front of your grandparents.

She didn't quite use it right which makes it a little less painful.
And it's not one of the phrases I have been known to use.
hint hint hubby/daddy
But nonetheless awful.

So what does any good parent do in this situation?
Ignore, ignore, ignore.
Then run to the other room and giggle a lot.
I mean seriously such a bad word coming out of
such a sweet little girl,
Even my grandma would laugh....Possibly.

A Hundred and TWO Dalmations

So the girls had a job a few weeks ago where

they had to go to shoot a
commercial/promo for Disneyland.
It was lots of fun.
The girls were dressed up as dalmations
and posed with Cruela De'vil.
The girls were a little apprehensive to say the least.
They have seen 101 Dalmations
and are privy to Cruela's meanness.
At the beginning of shoot the
director came up to me and
said "mom, they look terrified".
I was like "uhhh, what do you expect
you dressed them up as dalmations
and are posing them with Cruela De'vil,
who wants to skin them and make a coat outta them,
give em a minute". Haha
They warmed up pretty quickly.
But I do wish I had video or even pics
of my making a fool of myself in order to
get the girls to laugh and smile on cue.
I think we could win 'America's Funniest Home Videos'.

Back Off Mommies He's Mine

Apparently

~~something I totally already know~~ my hubster is
the talk of the preschool.
Last week was Addison's share day at school
and the hubster was more than happy to
~~have mommy buy the drinks, snacks and plan the easiest craft~~
volunteer his time.
It is no secret to anyone who knows us that hubster is a great
~~magnificent, hands on, better than the best~~ dad.
In an effort to keep hubster's sanity, I
bought wooden Halloween masks for the
kids to color.
I guess this went over seemlessly according to
hubster and they had some extra time left over
so he decided to have a parade around the classroom.
The parade took place at the end of class
when all the mommies are lined up
~~huddled together talking crap about what so and so's mom was wearing~~
outside the window waiting to come inside.
So they all the mommies were witness
to the hubster in action.
I will be the first to admit
he is the whole package
~~handsome, stylish, hands on daddy,~~
if I do say so myself.
Hubster comes home and tells me
~~gloats with a grin from ear to ear~~
how the other moms kept coming up to him after
class and saying how amazing he is with the kids,
and how the teacher said he was better
than a lot of moms she has that volunteer.
It's a good thing I am comfortable that hubster loves

~~adores, cherishes, worships the ground I walk on~~
me or I might be a wee but jealous and dress hubster down
next time and send him with a craft that has his head spinning
while the kids run circles around him gluing
feathers and felt pieces to the back of his shirt.
I think next volunteer day
I will make sure hubster doesn't have
any clean laundry.
Just kidding...kind of.

Homecoming

We took the girls to our alma mater to
watch the homecoming football game.
I thought the crowning of the homecoming court
would be the biggest hit.
I was very wrong.
They could care less about the princesses.
However, the cheerleaders were another story.
My girls couldn't get enough of them.
And now we have two very loud, bouncy girls
carrying poms poms all over our house.

To Baby or Not to Baby

That is the question...
Well in our house anyways.

A month ago I would have said not to baby without a doubt.
This week (and last week, shhhh) I have been having ~~insane desires~~ twinges of wanting another baby.
I think partly due to the fact that I am really starting to
realize how big my girls are getting.
I think about all the reasons not to have another baby
and they seem really selfish.
Which isn't completely a bad thing, I mean I am the one
who will be the most affected by another baby,
in the early stages at least.

Financially we can afford another baby,
and we certainly have enough love to share.
And we will have 2 very willing to ~~smoother~~ help
big sisters that have been asking for a little brother.
The hubby keeps ~~nagging~~ reminding me that I
am denying him a boy.
(Like there is a guarantee we will get a boy)
I still think about how ~~incredibly painful~~ awesome it would be to
actually get to experience labor and delivery.
I know crazy right.
I kinda felt jipped outta all that good stuff
~~stuff you really don't want captured on video.~~
It would be cool to have a big family
which in turn will give me more grandkids to spoil
in my golden girl years.

BUT

Then reality sets in and I am ~~stabbed in the heart~~ reminded
of my mommy insecurities.
I work,
outside the house.
And granted I have a cool schedule that allows me LOTS
of time off in the summer,
when I do work I am gone
all.day.long.
Some days I feel like I am already not there enough with my girls.
I worry that if we add another baby/kid that
I will be spread even further.
I already ~~seriously stress~~ think about how we will manage sports,
school, homework, work and the girls
aren't even in kindergarten yet.
Add another peanut in the mix and I we
may implode.
Besides that my plants are finally starting to
grow back the leaves the girls pulled off
and ate when they were little.
I am not sure they can endure another baby's wrath.

I kinda feel like we are under a weird deadline too
which makes it even more stressful for this momma.
The girls will be 5 soon, so there will
be a minimum of 5 years between them
if we got pregnant right away.
Do we really wanna start all over now
just when the girls are becoming
self sufficient????

Then I start looking at my ~~cuter than~~ cute girls
and begin to imagine how adorable
a little ~~Tony~~ boy would be.
Would he have the same blonde curls as the girls
or darker thick hair like my handsome hubby?
And I ~~secretly~~ have another name for a little girl picked out
if we had another girl.
I think if I did decide to open the baby maker
back up I would have to have a guarantee of
my choice of names.
You think that would fly???

I was hoping that writing all this out for ~~all of you~~ me to see
would help me make this decision easier
but I don't feel any different than when I started...
all sorts of conflicted.

Addison: It's not nice to laugh at Tanner when he toots.
He prolly had a tummy ache and now he feels better.

Good to know she cares about how people feel even dogs.

Packing up Stuff for Goodwill
Charlotte: Why are you putting my toys in that bag?
Me: These are the old toys you don't play with anymore, so
Mommy is giving them to Goodwill.
Charlotte: Who is Goodwill? Why do we have to give them
our stuff? (starting to cry)
Me: Goodwill collects toys and clothes that we don't need
anymore and gives them to people that
don't have enough money to
buy new clothes and toys.
Charlotte: I don't wanna give away my old toys,
(fully crying now)
I don't have any money and
I just need my toys so bad Mommy.

Note to self. Pack up for Goodwill at nap time next time

So we took off Charlotte's training wheels to see if she
wanted to try and learn to ride without them.
Not that we are ~~forcing~~ pushing her to take her
training wheels off before she is ready.
But a little nudging can't hurt right???

I mean she looks happy.
Total deceiving smile on that girl.

BUT...
As soon as daddy went in the garage to get another tool she took
it upon herself to put her training wheels back on.

I have been feeling ~~completely un~~ less than motivated lately.

At first I thought it was because I had gone back to work and was ~~wasting~~ using all my creative energy.

I find myself having these funny ideas for posts at times when I can’t get them down and when I do have the time to sit down in front of my computer I go blank.

I know, you must be wondering how could a mom of such ~~crazy~~ cute twins ever run out of funny things to blog about. Shocking I know.

It’s definitely not lack of material. Some days I can’t believe the things that come out of the girls ~~never~~ ~~ending sound machines~~ mouths.

I really wanna be better about posting. The girls are getting so big and my whole reason to start blogging was to journal our day to day ~~mayhem~~ life.

I mean seriously how can I not find something to say about pictures like this.

If my girls were small enough I would have ~~shoved~~ placed them gently into that bag just for a photo op. I have been known to do such things.

Back to School

School started back up for the girls.
They have a new class at a new facility with a new teacher.
I was a little (ok A LOT) nervous about how this would go.
Then end of last year didn't go so well.
The girls started crying every time we would leave
just like the beginning of the year.
It was unpleasant to say the least.

But I guess 3 months makes a big difference
in the life of 4 year old.
They LOVE school.
They LOVE their backpacks.
And their teacher.
And their new friends.

Mommy cried when i dropped you off but
it only lasted a minute because I was so happy
that you were smiling and waving goodbye
as you ran off to join your new friends on the carpet.

I took the girls shopping for a first day outfit.
This is what they picked out.
So cute.

Kinda self explanatory.

Again, haha.
Apparently they fought over whose backpack was whose

according to their teacher.
So this super saavy mommy sewed
(and by sewed I mean ironed on)
their first initial onto their backpacks.

I still cannot believe you are going to be 5 on your next birthday.
5!!!
That is amazing to me.
I still see little babies when I think about you but you really
are becoming big girls.

Come A Little Closer

These two sleep so close to each other.
If I ever have to sleep in their room they make me sleep
in the middle and they do this to me.
And I hate to be touched when I am sleeping.
Seriously can't stand it.
Last night I had to sleep in the middle
because Addison wasn't feeling good.
I was freezing so I pulled up the covers.
I kept them at bay till I fell asleep but
I awoke with myself under the covers and
both girls on top of the covers and all over me.
I felt like a bean in a burrito.
I was trapped.
I couldn't get outta that bed fast enough.
Thankfully they are sound sleepers and I was able to
wiggle my way out before I had a panic attack.

It does make for cute pictures though.

Pedicures are big in our house.
The girls are ALWAYS asking to have their toenails painted.
They really enjoy (what girl doesn't)
going to 'get' a pedicure in the big fancy massage chair.
It's not always an option for all 3 of to go get a pedi.
I mean, seriously I almost have to mortgage
our house to pay the bill.
Those hand painted flowers, they get us every time.
And most of their polish is coming off by the next day.
So in between going to the spa we have pedi days.
This week Ashes joined in.
Addison wanted watermelon toes,
hence the pink with black poked dots.
I do love having girls :)

3rd Annual Beach Camping Trip

We tried out new spot this year,
Campland on the Bay in San Diego.
It was a hit.
Tons of activities and right on the beach.
If you are looking to a place to beach camping I highly recommend it.June gloom was in effect the first 2 days.
But the kids still played in the water.
The mommies however watched from shore
in jeans and sweatshirts

I knew the day would come.

I thought I had at least a few more years.

Apparently not so.

I have been replaced.

The girls would rather play with their friends

We recently took their best friends out for aday on the lake.
In past trips they wouldn't ride in the tube without
mommy or daddy in tow too.
Not any more.Neither girl would even ride with me all day.
All they wanted was to ride with their friends.

I have been asking the girls if they want to get their ears pierced for the past year.
I wanted to take them when they were old enough to remember
and it would be a special time for the girls and I.
I remember getting my ears pierced when I little.
I was so excited.
The girls have been making comments about my earrings lately
and I ask if they want theirs pierced too and they say not yet.
Well one day last week we were sitting with their friends
and they said they were finally ready.
Whoo Hoo!!
Off we went, right then.
I didn't want them to change their mind.

We asked the girls friends to come along with us for support
(and distraction).
Addison was SO excited, Charlotte was a wee bit nervous.
We had Charlotte go first in case Addee cried
and Charlee would chicken out.

My Silly Moment of Sadness

Last week I came across an old box of sidewalk chalk.

It was hidden on top of the fridge behind the bread basket.

I was excited to pull it out as I knew the girls would have a blast.

When I opened it up I noticed tiny little teeth marks on
each of the chalks.

I then remembered that was why I hid the chalk on top of the fridge.

And I got a tear in my eye.

A tear.

Over Chalk.

My girls have grown up so much lately.

Addison rides a bike with no training wheels.

Both girls are swimming all over the pool without floaties.

And they choose to hang with their friends over me some days.

I snapped outta of my teary eyes quickly

when both girls ran in and grabbed the chalk from my hands.

Hours of fun were had.

Guess how surprised I was when I found a new set of teeth marks in the chalk?

Somethings never change.

Gross.

And just as a side note I did take her aside
after we left and told her that wearing socks with flip flops
is NEVER ok but we shouldn't make comments about it.
Even if your feet are cold, there is never an excuse.

Addison: Can I help you make dinner?
Mommy: Sure, you can put the croutons on the salad.
Addison: Ahhhh, This is the best day I ever had.

Well you go on vacation of course
and then another vacation

One of the quicker of the vacations was
just the hubs and I in Las Vegas!!

It was so relaxing.
I laid by the pool and people watched.
(one of my favorite past times)
I shopped in Forum Shops at Caesar's Palace for hours.
It was heaven.

I could have stayed here for a week.

We were lucky to have a slumber party
at Great Grandma's house a few weeks ago.

I think the girls favorite part was making

History repeated itself last week.
3 years ago Addison was hospitalized with pneumonia for 4 days.
Last week Charlotte was hospitalized with pneumonia for 4 days.
She was such a trooper thru it all.
It was a rough 4 days.
12 hours in the ER.
3 sleep interrupted nights.
5 IV pokes.
and 2 very sad little girls that did
not want to be separated from each other.

Around 4 am.
Getting a breathing treatment.

Ventured out to the playroom on day three.

Mommy had to wear the nasal canula too.

Addison was giving us shots.

The girls were so happy to be back together again at home.

She is almost completely back to herself,

The Poppies

This was our third annual trip to visit the poppies
and by far the best!
They were gorgeous.
Orange fields as far as you could see.
The girls were in heaven.
They would have stayed there for hours
if we would have let them.

These are the things that come to mind when I think of you two.

AddisonYou love to dance,
you love being the big (1 minute older) sister,
you are the queen of smiley faces with a squished nose,
you always eat your veggies first and ask for more,
you always want what mommy has
(high heeled shoes, new bangs, etc. )
you are very aware of sadness
and happiness when you are around it,
you are very coordinated when it comes to sports,
you still would like mommy or daddy to be in your line of sight,
you love new shoes, you love to cook,
love pointing out the letter A,
can cross the monkey bars with no help
and swing on the swings all by your self

CharlotteYou are such a comedian, you are so sensitive,
you are always singing, and making up songs,
you have started to not like things
you used to love just because you can,
you are starting to say the smartest things,
you are so sweet even to people you don't know,
you always notice when I have something new on,
you really are a tough cookie, you are becoming very independent,
you are so silly, you love all things music specially guitars,
you love having a big extended family
and like figuring out who is your family,
you want all your friends to be in your family,
you end up upside down and backwards in your bed every morning

Together you...Love all Barbie movies, adore your cousins,
love being outside, love playing in water,
have started to be scared at night in the dark,
love your soccer class, love your friends,
love having sleepovers at Grandma Diggers house,
enjoy taking pictures of people,
love to cuddle with your family,
would eat cereal every meal of the day,
don't like having your hair brushed
but love having pig tails,

dress everyday if we let you,

Friends...

Good girl friends are sometimes hard to come by.
I have a few that I have had for many years
and that I cherish.
I know my girls will always have a built in best friend in each other,
but I think it's important for them to have outside friends
they can grow up with through the years.
Thankfully we have some pretty awesome friends that
have some pretty awesome kids for our girls to be friends with.
You would have to be good friends to sit this close together
on a hot summer day.

So this Mommy has a huge fear of a particular animal.
It's slimy and slithery and just plain ick.
I have to close my eyes when I see one.
I get the super eebie jeebies just thinking about one.
I used to have nightmares that they were laying all
around me when I was little
and if I moved they would eat me.
I know, it's pretty bad.

My girls do not share this fear.
They let one wrap around them.
This Mommy was in panic mode.
I almost couldn't take the picture I was so terrified it was
going to squeeze them to death and eat them whole.

I mean this thing was huge!
And my girls smell like vanilla frosting
and are crazy cute.
What snake wouldn't want them for dessert???

...to watch The Barbie Mermaid movie 3 times in one day.

...a toy to come with her lunch.

...someone to make her take a 2 hour nap everyday.

...to go on a scooter ride around her neighborhood
and decide halfway that she wants to walk instead
and have someone carry her scooter the rest of the way home.

...to play in a bath filled with bubbles without
anyone asking her for a snack and more juice,
or breaking up a fight over the red crayon.

...to wear a princess tiara and Cinderella gown to the grocery store.

...to have a tea party out in the yard while someone prepares my dinner,
then finger paint in her Tinker Bell underwear
while someone does the dinner dishes afterward.

Train Rides

Easter

Thank goodness for Grandma Digger this year cuz
this mommy was not feeling the Easter celebrations.

Charlotte had to ask to go to see the Easter Bunny.
However she asked us the the day before Easter, so we joined
every other slacker parent in the (over an hour) line
trying to get their kids picture with the Easter Bunny.
I didn't buy any new special Easter dresses.
I didn't make them wear any silly Bunny ears.
I didn't even hard boil any eggs to color.
I know I suck.

But thank goodness for Grandma's.
We went to church Saturday night to a wonderful service with
Grandma Lindy and had a really nice
(night before) Easter dinner.
Then Easter Sunday was spent at Grandma Diggers where she
had eggs to die, cupcakes to frost, and baskets full of goodies. Cupcakes topped with Peeps,
what could be more tasty??

Birthday Celebration

It's that time when you have to forgo all the cool spontaneous weekends away.
When your life becomes second to sports.
Yep people we have entered competitive sports.
Soccer to be exact.
We signed the girls up last week for pee wee soccer
and then in two weeks we will sign up for AYSO.
They have their first practice tonight.

We took the girls out this weekend to practice up on their skills.
I must say they are pretty skilled for almost 4 year olds.
We might have to contact David Beckham's rep
and see if any spots are opening up on the LA Galaxy.

But seriously how cute are those bouncing pony tails???

I did not find her hiding under the grocery cart eating said candy.

Realizing that Addison has been in the bathroom longer than normal I call into her,
Me: Addee are you done?
Addee: Yesssss
Me: (now inside the bathroom) What were you doing in here for so long?
Addee: I was talking to my booty.
Me: Oh really, smiling, what were you telling it?
Addee: I was telling it to hurry up and go poopy.

Me: Charlotte what three things do you want to put in your share box to take to school tomorrow?
Charlotte: (thinks for a minute) Nena, Mousety, and Bear!
(the kids that live across the street named Helena, Annika and Christoph)
Me: Aww honey that would be very cool but they have to go to their own school.
Charlotte: Ok. I'll find something else then.

I love that my girls have such a great friendship with our neighbors. They are really good kids and even though they are all at least 4 years older play with my girls so sweetly all the time.

Thanks to my fabulous friend Angie I was able to

'model' some of her favorite jewelry and review them.
She sent me the new Twisted Silver XO earrings
and I took them out on the town.
Well maybe not on the town, but I took them on a tour of my work.

Yes that is the George Clooney's parking spot.
I know I could hardly breathe either.
XOXO for sure!!

Then the amazing people at Twisted Silver sent me a package full of goodies.
It felt like Christmas morning.
I seriously am in love with all my new accessories.

This might be my favorite piece of jewelry I own at the moment.
I LOVE it!!
And these two bracelets look so awesome alone or stacked on my wrist.
I have gotten so many compliments on all of the above.
I think I might have found a new obsession...

We were able to get away this weekend and celebrate our anniversary.
6 years of wedded bliss.
We stayed in La Jolla, Ca.
Our hotel was right on the ocean.
It was wonderful.
I seriously love my hubby.
I am one lucky girl.
He cooks, he cleans, and he loves me.
Ohhh and he makes incredible margaritas...
just ask anyone who has had one.

Has it really been 4 years?

4 years ...
since I packed my bags and left the comforts of my home
for the cold white walls of a hospital.
Where I sat day in and day out with monitors
strapped to my belly 24 hours a day in a hospital bed,
starring at two heart beats,
eating the delicious cafeteria food,
watching endless hours of 'A Baby Story' on TV,
getting woken up every night multiples times to 'find' my babies,
celebrating Valentine's day and my birthday in that room,
a room in which I left only twice in 7 weeks for 2 hours.
Somehow it feels like yesterday.

February 9th, 2006 I really began an incredible journey that
gave me two of the most important people in my life.
And I became a completely different person.
I became a mom.

10 Things I Never Knew Till I Became a Mom

10. Yo can pack a diaper bag every day and never need to use anything out of it,
however the one time you forget to bring it you desperately need everything in it.

9. The amount of fear that takes over you when you 'lose' your child in public.

8. How wipies become your staple cleaning tool.
Seriously I use those things for just about everything.

7. How well you can actually operate on 2 hours of consecutive sleep....week after week.

6. How relaxing grocery shopping can be.
If you don't understand, I will happily loan out my kiddies
the next time you need to run in to grab a few things.

5. How insanely crazy you can become for someone ringing your doorbell,
just after you get the kids to sleep.

4. You rarely get to use the bathroom alone.

I know you all know the minor panic that sets in when you can't find
your kid(s) for those few moments.
Obviously this is multiplied when this happens in a public setting.
However I had this happen recently in my house.

A simple game of hide and seek led this mommy into panic mode when after 5 minutes her girls were no where to be found.
Seriously there are only so many places to hide in my house.
Apparently I forgot one key hiding spot.

Haha Mommy we were in the hall towel cabinet.
Doors closed and not even the quietest giggle came from either of them.

Placerita Canyon

When I was a little girl my dad used to take my brother Mikey and I to Placerita Canyon Park.
We loved to pack lunches and hike up to the waterfall.
We'd spend hours in the nature center looking at the animals and flowers.
We have hundreds of pictures of us up there through the years.
Even as we grew older we still loved going and hiking the same trails.
When my dad passed away I was really sad thinking my girls would never get to share those memories with him.
He would have loved my girls.
Probably even more than he loved me :)
And he would have loved my nephew Brandon.
He is a mini version of my brother.

When we decided to meet up at Placerita with our kids I knew that my dad would be so happy knowing that we were sharing his love of Placerita with our kids.
Making our own memories.
Taking pictures of our kids in the same spots we did many years ago.

This boy is so dang cute.

My dad painted this walking stick for my brother when we little.

I have a picture of Mikey and I in this exact spot.

So cute.

They had so much fun.

My girls took the longest nap after all the fun they had.

Sunday Funday

We spent 3 days down in San Diego after Christmas.
We got to spend lots of time with family but we especially loved our day
with cousin Kissifer (Christopher) as the girls call him.
Seriously how cute is that.

I am pretty sure he had a good time.
I mean how cool is it to spend an afternoon in an
amusement park surrounded by hundreds of little kids
when you are a single guys in your 20's?
Totally cool! Haha.

Cousin Kissifer couldn't fit, he is really tall as the girls say.

But he did take a whirl on the Merry Go Round.
Charlotte was so happy, see cheesiest grin ever.

Christmas

It felt like Christmas lasted forever in our house.
Presents just kept popping up.
The girls were spoiled beyond from so many loved ones.
This was the best Christmas ever with the girls.
They were so excited about everything.

Christmas day was a wee bit hectic traveling over 150 miles between 4 houses but it was worth getting to celebrate with our families.

Santa musta thought some little girls were good this year.
I think he may have misread the naughty and nice list...just kidding.
They were mostly good.

They were a little overwhelmed at first but then it was game on.

And they were off and running or I should say off roading.

We are really into babies this year so we got a changing table and bathtub from grandpa and grammy.

Cousin Bryce was really cute to watch open his presents.
The ones that weren't already opened by Charlotte and Addison.

The girls painted coffee cups for great grandma and great grandpa.

They turned out really cute and the GG loved them.

We got lots of games and books that were all big hits.
We love to read.

Thanks to everyone who made our Christmas so special.
Charlotte was especially sad to see Christmas go.
She loved everything about it.
