60th Wedding Anniversary

My grandparents celebrated their 60th Anniversary on Sept.4.
This weekend our entire family got together to help them celebrate the past 60 wonderful years.
My grandparents have 6 children, 4 son/daughter in laws, 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
We all headed down to Paradise Point Resort in San Diego.
PP is gorgeous.
We had 10 rooms that followed the Mission Bay water line.
It was a fantastic weekend. Everyone had a great time.
Saturday night was the highlight.
It started off with family pictures then we headed off to 'the' dinner.
My grandparents are wonderful people. Their love for each other and our family is visible to anyone who knows them. I feel so lucky to have such strong role models to follow after.
I'm pretty sure their faces are going to be sore from all the smiling they did this weekend. It was definitely apparent that they were in heaven having all their family together to celebrate the beautiful life they have created together and for all of us to share.
We love you Grandma & Grandpa!
Friday afternoon lunch at the bar in the resortThis pond had the hugest fish. The girls were mesmerized by them.
The view was breathtaking.
Crazy ducks. We made the mistake of feeding them cheezits. They came after us like rabid ducks. We had to run inside to get away. One actually nipped at Charlotte's fingers. After we went inside they pecked at our door for almost 15 minutes. The girls were happily terrified.
I just couldn't resist.
Golf anyone?
Some of the gang.
Skateboarding with cousin Tyler.
Campfire on the beach with S'mores.
Grandma enjoys a S'more.
Grandparents & cousin Molly sitting poolside.Watchout Great Grandpa...Here comes Addison.
Jump!
Charlotte warms up on the hot cement after a swim.
Uncle Chris & Cousin Colin relaxing.
I'm sure the hotel staff loved seeing this.
At the dinner.Different less rabid ducks. Much funner to feed.Playing in the rose petals leftover from someone's wedding.Again I just couldn't resist.

Thank you Grandma & Grandpa for a wondeful weekend and for being such an inspiration to us all.

Wordful Wednesday

Another great Wordful Wednesday hosted by Seven Clown Circus

My girls have found a new enjoyment in imaginative play.
They will entertain themselves for hours with mundane
household items and have the most fun.
This activity did require more supervision than most activities. I was a little terrified that one sister would lock her sister in the ice chest. Thankfully they never went that route.

My 100th post!

I'm not sure where the time went from when I started this silly blog but it definitely has gone by fast.
I wish I had come up with a clever idea to commemorate the occasion but unfortunately I could not.
I went back to my 50th post...thought about adding another 50 things about myself but I think you guys pretty much have a solid picture into my life by now so I give you this picture.
Just a sweet simple picture of what it is like to be me.
Extremely loved,
by two of the most amazing people in the world.

It doesn't get any better than this.

Addison Tag

Jaime over at The Heiner Clan tagged Addison and Charlotte, in this fun little meme.

Name and meaning:
Addison McKinsey.
After just looking this up I found that it means Son of Adam...which is really cool since my brothers name is Adam. So we can tell him we named her after him...LOL. Addison was named just days before her birth. We couldn't decided on a name. It was somewhat Tony's decision since I had picked Charlotte but I obviously had to agree :) He really liked McKinsey but I was not a fan. And again like with Charlotte no middle names were picked so we each got to name the girls middle names with the names we liked but could not agree on.

Age:
If you ask her, she is twooooooooooooo.

Nicknames:
Addee Bean, Addee Mac, Addee Macerson, Sistee

Favorite Activities:
She loves to be outside. Hunting for rolly pollys. She also likes to be chased. She loves to hide and play with her sister. Watching mommy cook.

Favorite Foods:
carrots, cupcakes, french fries, tomatoes

Least Favorite Foods:
peas

Favorite Music:
Anything that makes her shake her booty. Laurie Berkner is a big favorite here.

Favorite Toy:
Right now I think babies and tea sets are her favorites. She also really enjoys teeter tottering while singing.

Favorite Book:
Are You Ticklish? and Baby Animals

What makes her happy:
Everything makes her happy! But I think she is most excited by her sister. She LOVES her sister. She also really loves all her friends.

What makes her sad:
When her blankie is missing.

Charlotte's turn!!

Name and meaning:
Charlotte Ellison.
It means free man...LOL. It comes from Charles. It is of French origin. I had ALWAYS loved Charlotte. So if we were having a girl we were having a Charlotte. I really liked the name Ellison and thought of naming Addison that but Tony wasn't a fan so since we didn't have middle names till after the girls were born Ellison was a winner for a middle name.

Age:
If you ask her, she is twooooooooooooo.

Nicknames:
Charlee Bean, CB, Chuck B, Sister

Favorite Activities:
She loves to be outside. She also loves to sing and dance. She sings all the time. She also enjoys the play hide & seek with her sister. Jumping on the bed. Painting.

Favorite Foods:
green beans, cupcakes, french fries, chicken, pistachios

Least Favorite Foods:
Tomatoes

Favorite Music:
Anything that makes her shake her booty. Laurie Berkner is a big favorite here.

What makes her happy:
Everything makes her happy! But I think she is most excited by her sister. She LOVES her sister.

I tag anyone that wants to do this tag! It's kind of fun to analyze your kid and be able to share the wonderful things about them. So, consider yourself tagged!

And the winner is...

Smallville!!!!

We won! We won!

It was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!

Did I mention that WE WON!!!

The whole experience is kinda surreal. Well for me at least. They call your name (in our case they called "The Team From Smallville") everyone jumps up screaming, you are rushed up onto the stage, there is 3,000 people clapping & smiling at you, then you are ushered back stage for a million pictures and a quick interview. Obviously everyone you are surrounded by is smiling and people are congratulating you everywhere you look. It really can make you feel something special. Not to mention the real celebrities that are mingling all around. I would have to say that Tom Hanks was the biggest of my up close celebrity spottings. Seth Green, Jenna Fischer, Tim Conway, Sarah Silverman, Kathy Griffith and Ashley Tisdale were among the few famous faces we stood near trying to look like we knew what we were doing...Haha.

Then the real party begins. The Ball is even more spectacular. The theme this year was Diamonds so there were lit crystal balls hanging everywhere amidst the black velvet and hot pink decor. Two live bands play music throughout the night and people dance and drink the night away. I'm sure it was even that much more exciting to be sitting at the table filled with Emmy's rather than if we would have lost.

Up on stage accepting the award.
I know it's a fuzzy pic but it still had to be posted. The Team From Smallville
Just after the ceremony with the stage in the background
Tony & I walking over to the Ball.
Notice Jenna Fischer from 'The Office' just to my right :)
Quick pose in from of the much larger than life Emmy statues
The Emmy taking a break while we ate dinner. This was dessert. Notice the diamond candies to go with the theme. So cool!
Glass of wine in the lounge.

**Thank you to Mike Lawshe (who will never see this but still) for recognizing the work I do and thinking of me when extra tickets came available.
**The biggest Thank You goes to Chris McGeary who brought me into this crazy industry. I am so thankful for you mentoring me, ultimately getting me to this point where I am able to share such a special award with you. Thank you!!

Side note...We attended the Creative Arts Primetime Emmy's....not the one you would normally watch on TV. They split the award show into 2 nights. All the big awards people really care about and then us... The behind the scenes people. :) The Creative Arts Emmy's will air on Saturday the 20th on E!. I think they said 5 pm or maybe 8 pm. The category we were nominated in will be about 2/3 the way thru the ceremony (in case you care) and is listed as Outstanding Sound Editing for a Series.

Yikes...

We (as in my office) were nominated again for an emmy this year for Smallville. Since I am listed as the assistant editor I don't technically get invited. When we won 2 years ago I was able to go since someone else (not in our office) couldn't go. It was amazing to say the least. Specially since we won. This year our office is nominated in two categories. For Smallville for TV and Commanche Moon for a mini series. Well I just got a call that someone isn't going again from that same department I snuck in under last time. Yea for me! But now I must find a dress in less than 24 hours and squeeze in a much overdue haricut. Wish me luck. And wish us luck tomorrow.

Wordful Wednesday

Head on over to Seven Clown Circus to get more Wordful Wednesday's.
Addee is making very sure that Charlee has indeed pee pee'd in the potty.
Because under no circumstances can the pee pee dance be done if there has been no actual pee pee left in the potty.

Mom, MOM!!!, MOM???

There is no mom in this house yet.
But for some reason one of my two year olds, that shall remain nameless (Charlotte)
has started calling me mom.
I am not mom. No matter how loud you yell it.
I am still holding on to mommy or momma if need be.
I am not moving into that phase yet.
My girls are still babies. I still need to be mommy.
So Charlotte I hope you are reading this cuz unless you are referring to me as your mommy I am refusing to answer.

Happy Birthday Daddy!!!

Happy Birthday To The Best Daddy Ever!
(We might be a little biased)
The girls loved making daddy a special birthday cake. They told EVERYONE in the grocery store that they were making a happy birthday cake for their daddy. They could barely wait for Daddy to get home from work. I caught Addison trying to eat the cake several times :) When Daddy walked in they screamed Happy birthday to the daddy! And told him they made him a special birthday cake.

Some Days...

Sometimes I find it harder than other times to keep up with this blog. This has been one of those weeks. We have so much going on I can get overwhelmed with pics & stories.

The girls are keeping us VERY much so on our toes right now. We might have entered the terrible twos. But you didn't hear me say that out loud in case I am wrong and it can get worse. Listening the first time is out of the question. Sometimes we will be heard on the 5th or 6th time but mostly we have to count to 3 and use the fear of time out. Oooohhh...that just gives them the creeps and most often gets them moving along. Sometimes I feel as though I am speaking another language. I can talk directly to them using their name and get zero response at all. That is my favorite.

But even on the most trying of days they seem to make me laugh more than not. They truly are amazing little things. Their imagination lately is so awesome. They LOVE playing mommy and are seen pushing their babies on the swings and changing their diapers. Their latest adventure involved a recent trip to Sam's Club groceries. They played for alomst an hour on their rocket ships.

3,2,1...Blastoff!!!
