Can This Really Be?

Are my sweet, tiny, bright eyed, 3 pound babies turning 2 tomorrow?

How did this happen?

Where did the past two years go?

I know I have lots of memories of all the amazing things you have accomplished over the past 2 years. But when I close my eyes, I remember like yesterday the day you were born. I remember holding you for the first time and sobbing uncontrollably with joy that overfilled my heart. I can see you trying so hard to focus on my face as I spoke to you and feeling like you knew I was your mommy. I remember waking up smiling to the sounds of your cries when we first brought you home. I still couldn't believe you were mine and you were home. Your first smile, your first laugh, your first night you slept alone in your big girl bed. They all seem like yesterday in my head. Now you are running all over the place with so much excitement and fascination at the world before you. I feel like I just closed my eyes and here we are. My babies are not babies anymore. You are toddlers. Little people. Beautiful little girls. My sweet little babies you will always be.

Happy Easter!

This Easter was as busy as ever. We started out in church in our new Easter dresses, even Mommy had a dress on. The girls loved the service. They sang and danced to the songs and managed to last almost the entire service. To their defense it was long (1.5 hours) But it was very beautiful. I am really happy the girls let us enjoy it :)
Then we were off on our 2 hour drive towards the beach. We met up with more family for food, egg hunts and fun. The girls REALLY enjoyed the hunt this year. They were all about their eggs. There was some comparing of baskets to see who had more eggs and some egg stealing. They were even allowed to eat quite a bit of candy that the Easter Bunny had filled their eggs with. This was a BIG treat for both girls because Mommy doesn't really let the girls have candy. And they finished off the day with a cupcake for dinner. Why stop just at the candy is our moto.
It was a beautiful day. We had a wonderful time.
Happy Easter everyone!
I swear they were having fun!

Addison finds a pretty orange egg.

Charlotte off and running to find more eggs.

Look at mine. No! Look at mine.

Counting her stash.
Or checking to make sure sister didn't steal any when her back was turned.

Big Frank

Our turtle died this morning.
We had a red eared slider named Franklin aka Big Frank. She was 7 years old. My brother bought her for me in downtown LA. She was the size of a quarter when I got her. We used to sit her on our dog's nose and take silly pictures of her. She got much bigger over the years. I got her right before I got our dog Ashes who was the 'baby' of our house before we had the twins. The girls liked Franklin. They enjoyed watching her swim and seeing the fish swim around in her tank before she gobbled them up. I'm not too sure if they will really notice that she is missing. We most likely won't say anything to them as they are too young to understand anyways but it got me thinking. Of course I am sad that Frank died. I got teary-eyed for a few minutes when Tony called to tell me. But she was just a turtle. She didn't really interact with us. Once she got bigger she would snap at us so we stopped taking her out of her tank in fear of getting bitten. Ashes on the other hand is also going to be 7 this year. My girls LOVE Ashes. And Ashes LOVES the girls. She is a big dog, a lab mix, so we will lucky to get another 7 years out of her. She really is an important part of our family. After all she was our first 'baby'. I know 7 years is a long time. It just got me thinking.
Hope Turtle Heaven is treating you well Big Frank.
You will be missed.

This my crazy husband dancing around with Frank on his head. I can't even begin to explain this photo without our family sounding completely insane. :)

And this is Addison sitting on Ashes back watching TV. Ashes is such a good dog.

Ssh Mommy!

I have never been a quiet person. I have been known to be a sometimes loud talker, specially when I get excited about the topic. I love loud noisy places and I love to laugh out loud. I love singing songs and dancing around like an crazy lady with my girls. I think my girls usually enjoy my somewhat wild behavior.
Well last night in an attempt to teach my girls how to help mommy wash their sweet tiny bodies in the bath tub I was singing a made up song and dancing out (or more so gyrating my body in awkward positions) scrubbing motions as they watched me hoping they would follow suit. Addison was quite pleased with my performance. She copied many of my gyrating movements and laughed along the way. Charlotte on the other hand sat and stared. At the end of my performance she placed her perfect little finger in front of her perfect little lips and "Ssshed" me. Apparently my loud obnoxious behavior was distracting her from her otherwise peaceful bath experience. I will remember this the next time I am trying to take a peaceful shower and she is standing outside the shower door screaming for juice or snacks.

Hiding Spot

I see her take off running holding something she is surely not supposed to have. She thinks she is VERY clever. She has discovered a new hiding spot. She ducks inside just as mommy comes 'round the corner.

She thinks I cannot see her right now. She is giggling uncontrollably.

Oops I've been spotted.

I better put on my cute face so I don't get in trouble.

The time has come

We have discovered how to take off our own diapers and make nice little 'piddle' pools for mommy to clean up. I am amazed at how someone so small and so cute can cause so much mischief. You can't see it in the picture but alongside the diaper on the floor are 3, yes 3 piddle pools. How does she even make that much piddle in a matter of 2 minutes? Duct tape here we come!!

Mini Me's

I was kinda tired today so I asked the girls if they could help out with some of the household chores. Some light vacuuming, feed the dog her treat and pay some on line bills. Thankfully they were up for the challenge. And Charlotte even dressed up for the occasion :)

I guess Addison got a little hungry in between chores :)

New Obsessions

With the lack of new TV programming I have had to travel out of my normal realm of Tivo'd shows to catch up on. Instead of Grey's Anatomy and Gossip Girl (I know, I know don't laugh) I added The New Adventures of Old Christine to my Tivo quere. I can honestly say that I laugh so hard in every episode that I can't wait till the next week to get more of my Christine fix. Another show that has caught my attention and I am embarrassed to fess up to this one is Chelsea Lately on E!. It is really rather crude but I still find myself laughing wanting more at the end of her show. She is so quick and witty, much like Christine's character. I would love to posses that quality. Maybe if I watch enough of my new TV shows it will wear off on me. There's always wishful thinking.

Refrigerator Meme

Angie over at SevEn cLoWn CirCuS tagged me for this meme. Apparently, what is on your refrigerator is a window into what is going on in your family at the time, which suits me just perfectly. My fridge is a disaster of cluster. I have old and new pics, birthday invitations for the 5 parties the girls are invited to this month, gymnastics schedules and alphabet and animal magnets. The magnets actually cover all metal surfaces in my house at the moment :)

Consider yourselves tagged, and then head over to Heart of Wisdom, the originator of this meme to enter to win her contest.

Sick, Sick, Sick

102 fevers and throwing up for the past two days with both girls.
Hopefully this passes soon. And hopefully mommy and daddy don't get it too :)
